High Pressure Oxidation Using Nitric Acid, Nitration, Friedel-Crafts Reaction, Amidation
1) HIGH PRESSURE OXIDATION USING NITRIC ACID
Production of various substituted Benzoic Acids is carried out by oxidation of corresponding Toluenes using Nitric Acid as oxidising agent at high temperatures and pressure.

Our plant consists of fully equipped stainless steel autoclaves provided with various safety devices like safety valves, rupture discs and alarms as well as an efficient scrubbing system to ensure emissions at better than acceptable levels.

2) NITRATION
Nitration of aromatic compounds is carried out in stainless steel as well as Glass lined vessels using Nitric Acid and Sulphuric Acid.

The reaction vessels are provided with safety devices and can operate at a range of temperatures from sub zero to 150 oC. Excellent scrubbing system is also provided to ensure emissions at better than acceptable levels.

3) FRIEDEL-CRAFTS REACTION
Conversion of R COOH to R COR (R/R = Aryl or Alkyl) is carried out using Thionyl Chloride to make the corresponding Acid Chloride in situ, which is then converted further to either the Benzophenone or Acetophenone by Friedel- Crafts reaction. Glass lined vessels fully equipped with safety measures and scrubbing systems are used to carry out reaction at a wide range of temperatures from 0 o C to 200 o C.

4) AMIDATION
Conversion of R COOH to R CONH (R= Aryl or Alkyl) is carried out using Thionyl Chloride to make the corresponding Acid Chloride in situ, which is then converted further to Amide with Ammonia. Glass lined vesseles fully equipped with safety measures and scrubbing systems are used to carry out reactions at a wide range of temperatures from 0 o C to 200 o C.
